Rhubarb

Rhubarb

Season: April - July.

To grow: Rhubarb is a perennial plant so once you plant it once, it is a very low maintenance fruit to have in your garden, I highly recommend it. For the first three years of growing it shouldn't be harvested but after that it just gets stronger and stronger every year.

To eat: there is such a variety of ways to enjoy rhubarb but one of the lesser known ways is to make a shrub with it which is kind of like a quick fermented drink and is made into a cordial so it lasts a long time. Of course, you can't go wrong with rhubarb crumble.
